My primary goals for the next three weeks will be finishing the scented dolls and getting ready for the next intervention. Four days have already gone by during the dolls’ roughly two-week manufacture phase. Ten people will be recruited to participate in the intervention, and ten 10cm dolls will be produced overall. In order to support the project’s theoretical and scholarly study, I am also keeping in touch with the school librarian.
In order to finalize the fragrance created especially for the dolls, I am in contact with a perfumer in Yunnan during the production process. The following steps are to confirm the final formula and arrange for its shipment from China to the UK, as the smell development is nearly finished. When the dolls and scent are available, I will carry out the intervention with the ten participants, gather their comments and observations, and utilize the results to assess whether the combination of a small tactile object and aroma could lessen homesickness.
